There are
two different types of tundra: artic and alpine
The ALPINE
TUNDRA is found at high elevations,
such as the Himalayas and Kilimanjaro.
The ARTIC
TUNDRA is found at high latitudes,
such as Alaska and Russia.
Tundra regions can be found in the
extreme northern latitudes of the globe.
Plants and animals in the tundra are able to survive the harsh
cold temperatures.

Tundra is the coldest of all the
biomes. It is known for its icy landscapes, super cold
temperatures, little snow and rainfall, and short growing seasons
(spring and summer). Dead plants and animal material serve as
nutrients for new life forms to grow.
