There
are two different types of deserts: hot and cold
The HOT
DESERT has as its main form of
precipitation rain. But that's only ten inches
or less of rain per year. Such as the Australian,
Sonoran, and Sahara.
The COLD
DESERT has as its main form of precipitation
snow. But that's only ten inches or less of
rain per year. Such as the Gobi, Iranian, and
Great Basin.
Most
deserts are found in
bands along 30 degrees latitude north and 30 degrees
latitude south (between the dotted lines on the
map).
